Meet the On-Air Host of Paws PR TV: A Q&A with Kelly Diedring
She's wrestled alligators on Animal Planet, sold products live on HSN and QVC, and now she's bringing pet brands to national television audiences across the country. Meet Kelly Diedring Harris co-founder and on-air host of Paws PR TV.
Kelly, let's start with the basics. Where did your love of animals come from?
Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Today I live in Tampa with six goats, two rescue dogs, and two human kids who are only slightly easier to train.
You own goats?!
You bet! I am the founder of Goat Yoga Tampa, a Tampa-area experience that combines animal therapy with yoga. Our classes take place all over Central Florida , where goats roam freely among yogis, jumping on backs and nibbling on anyone who dares to hold still! It’s a lot of fun!
You have a background in Wildlife Biology before going into communications. That's an unusual combination!
I have a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology and a Master of Arts in Mass Communications. The science background gave me a deep, genuine understanding of animals and the environment. The communications degree gave me the tools to talk about it on camera in a way that connects with people. Put those two things together and you get someone who can talk about a pet wellness product and actually know what she's talking about.
You spent years hosting for HSN and QVC. What did that teach you?

There is no safety net on live tv! You learn very quickly how to read an audience, how to find the emotional hook in any product, and how to tell a story in thirty seconds that makes someone reach for their credit card. Those skills translate directly into what we do at Paws PR TV except now, instead of selling to a home shopping audience, I am introducing pet products to millions of pet lovers across the country.
How did Paws PR TV come about?
I’m Vice President of Pet Products and Storytelling at Paws PR and work directly with clients on strategic communications and earned media. Paws PR TV was created in direct response to what Patricia and I see every day: less opportunities for pet brands to get media coverage.
The media landscape is fundamentally different than it used to be. Newsrooms have downsized, reporters have been laid off and the journalists who remain in newsrooms are overwhelmed and under-resourced. As a result, brands are struggling to get visibility through traditional earned media, and we wanted to create a platform that gave them guaranteed broadcast television exposure through editorial-style storytelling.
What does your role as host of Kelly's Pet Picks actually look like?
Before I head to the studio, I have to understand each product, what it does, what the product does, what makes it special, who it's for, what the pet parent needs to hear to understand why it matters.
Then we build the segment around a theme that makes the brands feel like part of a natural conversation, not a commercial. On camera, I integrate each product into that story in a way that feels genuine, because it is genuine. I don't have to fake enthusiasm for a good pet product. If I think it's great, it shows.
What kinds of pet brands are the best fit for Paws PR TV?
Kelly’s Pet Picks by Paws PR TV connects pet brands with a national TV audience.
Any brand that has a real story to tell and a genuine benefit for pets and their people. We've featured pet food, treats, wellness products, accessories, travel gear and books.
When I am considering products for segments, I am asking: Is this product genuinely solving a problem for pet owners? Does it have something interesting to say?
The brands that get the most out of their segments are the ones that come in with clear messaging and a genuine belief in what they've built. That energy is contagious on camera.
What do you want pet brands to know about working with you?
That I'm going to treat your brand like it's my own.I know the pet industry from the inside out,not just as a host, but as someone who has worked in PR, communications, and media for over two decades, and who genuinely lives this life with her own animals every single day. I blend live sales experience, pet PR expertise, and brand education to help companies turn product features into consumer-friendly, emotionally resonant stories that drive both awareness and conversions. That's not a tagline, it’s just what I do.

Last question — six goats, two rescue dogs, two kids. How do you do it all?
Good question! Lots of coffee and wine? 🙂 The goats are actually very calming, for the record. There's something about being around animals that resets everything. No matter how busy things get, I come home, someone headbutts me affectionately, and the whole day makes sense again. That's why this work matters. Pets (goats included!) are family. And the brands that understand that are the ones I love working with most.
